Whether its crawling the ground or reaching to the sky, Phlox is always a brilliant addition of color to the garden. Phlox can be broken down into two separate categories, Creeping Phlox and Garden (Tall) Phlox. Creeping Phlox is an early to mid-spring bloomer. Once the temperatures rise the blooming subsides. Garden Phlox tends to be the more popular of the two because of its longer bloom time. Rounded clumps of blooms sit atop emerald green stems and foliage contrasting nicely together.

Creeping Phlox is a great choice for areas which you need to fill space as it sprawls the ground. In spring you’ll get a bright start to the growing season and a nice carpet of green to provide background for later bloomers. Garden Phlox does well in the back of the bed or in front of hedge shrubs or containers. One or both will provide spectacular color.
