Preen® Weed Preventer stops weeds from germinating in flower and vegetable gardens, in ground covers and around trees and shrubs. Preen will not kill existing weeds. It will prevent new weeds from sprouting — eliminating the need for difficult and time‑consuming hand‑weeding. For flowers, roses, herbs, ground covers, ornamental grasses, shrubs, trees, and listed vegetables at least 2 – 3 inches tall, sprinkle Preen® Garden Weed Preventer evenly over the entire soil surface, being sure to keep granules away from plant roots and foliage. Immediately water in after application. Preen can stop weeds for up to three to four months. An additional application in mid-summer will protect against late summer- and fall-sprouting weed seeds.

Bermudagrass often becomes a weed problem when present in flower beds. Ortho® Grass-B-Gon Garden Grass Killer kills weedy grasses, including bermudagrass, without injuring ornamental plants. Grass-B-Gon is a ready-to-use, selective systemic grass killer that can be used to kill existing weedy grasses in and around ground covers, plant beds, landscapes, individual trees and shrubs. Make 2 applications 7 days apart for tough to control grassy weeds such as Bermudagrass and Crabgrass. See label for listing for plants that it may be applied directly “over-the-top”.
