Fertilizer Dosage
Measure the tree trunk diameter at a point about 3 feet above the ground, and apply 1 ½ pounds of fertilizer per inch of trunk diameter. Spread the fertilizer uniformly within and slightly beyond the drip line of the outer limbs. For shrub bed areas apply at a rate of one cup per 15 square feet of bed area. Water well.
Young Trees
Do not apply this tree food to trees planted within the last six months. Instead, use Fertilome Root Stimulator. Young trees will also benefit by using a Tree Wrap around the trunks to protect them from sunscald.
