Bubblegum® Petunias

Supertunia® Vista Bubblegum® Petunia

Sometimes a petunia isn’t just another petunia.  Sometimes you get something so outstanding it makes you rethink what you were sure you knew about a plant. Supertunia Vista Bubblegum Petunia is one of those plants.

Supertunia® Vista Petunias are very vigorous, with mounding habits that can reach up to 2 feet in height in the landscape and will trail over the edges of baskets and containers up to 4 feet by the end of the season. They are fantastic landscape plants and are great in large containers, where they function as both fillers and spillers. In garden beds, they will work either in the front or middle of the bed. The plant will bloom prolifically with medium sized, bright bubblegum pink flowers.

So what make Supertunia Vista Bubblegum so different from other petunias?  First, it doesn’t need to be deadheaded. The plant will bloom prolifically all summer long without having to pick off a single spent flower. Second, the vigor of the plant is outstanding. It will take much more heat than other petunias and bloom well in to late summer. They are bred to flower earlier, grow taller and wider and grow more vigorously than other Supertunia. You can see these bubbles from a l-o-o-o-n-g way off.

In addition to Bubblegum there are two other colors available with the same characteristics. Supertunia Vista Fuchsia with fuchsia-pink flowers and Supertunia Vista Silverberry with blushed white flowers with bright pink veins.

Plant Supertunia where they get at least 6 hours of direct sun a day. Because they are such vigorous growers and bloomers, they use a lot of energy. This means fertilizer is key to maximizing their potential. Apply a slow release fertilizer, such as Osmocote Plant Food, every 3-4 months and apply a foliar feeding of TLC Garden Max every 10-14 days.
